Having two young children I spend a lot of time at the Adelaide zoo. I love to keep my kids grounded with nature and world conservation. We have been enjoying the educational bird show at the zoo and each time I've gone away wanting to paint this magnificent Macaw. Their colours and size are just amazing and more amazing when in flight.
This painting has a textural green mottled background representing the forest they live in and the Macaw and branch has its own textures so it feels like it will fly off the painting. Ive used bold saturated colours in my unique modern style.
